Tough Mudder 1

Designed by British Special Forces, Tough Mudder is an endurance event in which teams seek to complete 10-12 mile long muddy obstacle courses. In 2012, 35 Tough Mudder events were conducted in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia and 60 events are planned for 2013. (Source: Wikipedia) My partner ran this course in 2012, and I was his designated driver, support crew and official photographer. There were over 20 obstacles involving strength, mud, teamwork, agility, mud, electric current, fire, mud, walls, climbing nets, monkey bars, metres of walls to run over, jump across or get around, mud, and more mud. He made it to the finish line in one piece.  This post is part of the Weekly Photo Challenge at The Daily Post.

  1. There is something about this course that brings me back to childhood and the freedom to just be dirty – although I don’t think playing in the mud as children was this hard. Great photo.
