“I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.”
Robert Louis Stevenson
I’m not sure if I’m a writer who likes travelling or a traveller who likes to write, but for me, words are a way of capturing moments on the road, and when re-reading them, a channel to re-live past travel or anticipate future journeys.
The inspiration to write about travelling comes from the imperative of trying to encapsulate the exhilaration and intensity, the freedom and excitement, of travel, and preserve it for posterity. My inspiration comes from being in movement.
This post was inspired (heh!) the Daily Post’s Special Photo Challenge: Inspiration.

Isn’t it amazing how the air tastes different from country to country?
Your words feed my need for movement as I’m currently living vicariously through them. Thank you
Absolutely agree! And how the sky looks different… I think movement brings change, and change brings growth. Or at least that’s how I justify spending so much time and money travelling!
Thanks for commenting!
Absolutely! What you said…. (you say it better than I could)
You have a great way with words. I love having something written down to re-live past journeys.
Thanks for the compliment!
